FAQs

  • I’m based in Highbury and Islington in North London, and I work throughout London. I’m also available to travel to other locations by arrangement.

  • Wear what you feel good in and comfortable in - otherwise, anything goes! Bold colours and patterns can look fantastic if that’s your style. Kids can wear costumes, pyjamas, or anything they love - it’s all about capturing you as you are!

  • Simply tell them that a photographer friend is coming to hang out and take pictures. In my experience, particularly with younger children, they’re completely relaxed and really enjoy themselves - even when parents are worried they will be shy.

  • That’s absolutely fine - family life is full of ups and downs. Those moments can actually be very special (even if it doesn’t feel like it at the time) because they say something profound about parenting and the love and care you show for your children in sometimes challenging situation. We’ll take things as they come, and often the unplanned moments can be the most meaningful.

  • Not at all! I want to capture real family life and mess can be a inveitablepart of that. It won’t show in the photos in the way you think. If there is anything you really don’t want in the background, just move it aside for the day.

  • We will discuss this prior to the session, but I usually suggest spending some time indoors and some time at a favourite outdoor location. This gives the final selection of photos a lovely variety and energy and captures different places and activities that are important to you. Ultimately though, it depends on what you want and I’m flexible and always open to ideas.

  • If you decide to go ahead, I’ll send you a contract and an invoice for the session fee (which also acts as the deposit). Once that’s completed, your date is confirmed in my diary. We will then arrange for our pre-session consultation.

  • Don’t worry - we’ll be flexible. Light rain or overcast skies often make for soft, beautiful light, and we can sometimes use umbrellas, wellies, or covered areas to keep the session going. In fact, photos of kids splashing in puddles and having fun outside on a rainy day can turn out beautifully! If the weather is heavy or persistent, we can reschedule or move part of the session indoors. I’ll stay in touch leading up to your session and we’ll make a plan that works best for you.

  • Yes, of course. I offer digital images, fine art prints, matted and framed prints, and albums. My offer is completely bespoke so you can choose what you want rather than having to commit to a particular package.
